Transmission Control Unit for BMP Infantry Combat Vehicle
Pinaka has developed fully indigenous Transmission Control System (TCU) for Cross Drive Transmission System used on Tracked Vehicles (Military BMP Vehicles). This is fully automated control system that controls transmission used to transmit torque and speed with maximum of 04 forward and 02 reverse Gears.
- Fully automated microcontroller-based system and replaces the legacy manually operated transmission control.
- Fully indigenous system which ensures control over technology, component availability.
Hypersonic Missile Inter-Stage Power Supply Switching Unit
Pinaka designed and developed the critical inter-stage Power Supply Switching Unit (PSSU) for India’s Hypersonic Missile (which is currently under development and is called the ‘High Speed Technology Demonstrator Vehicle’). This is a solid-state relay which is non-susceptible to high shock levels inherent in such missile systems. As an inter-stage component, Pinaka’s Launch Vehicle Relay Unit – PSSU plays the critical role of switching on/off the supply to various on-board sub systems. The LVRU-PSSU also controls the voltage of the missile’s six external batteries, monitoring it through relays.
Qualified Data Acquisition & Controller Boards
G-Meter
Pinaka’s G-Meter which has been adopted for a range of avionics subsystems can record up to 16G impact events. It records both direction and amplitude as also max peak events in individual X, Y and Z axes. The device also has sensors to record temperature over time. The G-Meter features a self-contained unit design free of cables and wires, has up to 24 months of battery life. The device features an LED display, providing single-tap and double-tap status indicators which can be programmed to display time on impact. Data can be transferred via serial or USB.
Pinaka has several products that are widely used and deployed. These include airborne avionics systems, simulators, calibrators, testers, etc. Of special note are the testers, test rigs and jigs that Pinaka developed in close collaboration with the Aeronautical Development Agency, ADA, to provide a world-leading maintenance philosophy to India’s Tejas LCA.
Ranging from hand-held to tarmac to rack-mounted systems, Pinaka’s testers are the mainstay of HAL’s and IAF’s ability to maintain top-class operational efficiency. The very same I-Level and O-Level maintenance support products used to provide the Tejas LCA world-leading maintenance support from SRU, LRU to component level troubleshooting, identification and repair is now being used by the IAF to up-level the maintenance philosophy of their other aircraft platforms as well. Pinaka is the OEM for all these products and has in-house ability to manufacture its products.
Simulators
The DFCC-ADC Data Acquisition simulator software was developed by Pinaka for ADA for the Light Combat Aircraft. This acquisition system is a display and logging system for avionics data coming from DFCC and GRU (Gyro Rotation Unit). The software acquires DFCC- GUH RS422 binary data in real time and checks the validity of the incoming data.
ATEs
Avionics components are highly mission critical and demand very stringent testing. During the design, production and maintenance phases, ability to test large numbers of these equipment efficiently and accurately is of paramount importance. Pinaka has developed end-to-end solutions for catering to this requirement, and these are in operational use with our customers. We have also developed and deployed Host and Controller software for controlling the Automatic Test Equipment which consists of diverse set of signal generation and measurement instruments. Pinaka is equally at ease with LabView and .NET solutions. We also have rich experience in calibration of test equipment. The ATEs we have developed can generate sophisticated textual and graphical reports within short turn-around-times.
Weapons & Missile Release Systems
No Volts Cum Pulse Tester (NVCPT)
Pinaka has designed and developed a generic, CRI-certified microcontroller based “No Volts cum Pulse Tester” for fighter aircrafts that detects the presence of stray voltages. It also detects the correctness of amplitude and the duration of the firing pulses. The system is in operational use with ADA and HAL. This product of Pinaka demonstrate our ability to develop products in the realm of embedded hardware and software from design and development to testing and certification.
Test Rigs & Jigs
The Test Rig is used for testing the DR118 System. The rig consists of two racks. One Rack is an LRU Rack, and the other Rack is an Instrument Rack. The test rig has a rotating pedestal. One Setup consists of the mounting structure for the antennas and is rotatable one time till 360 deg. The other setup has mounting arrangements for the instruments to replicate a radiation setup.
Software has been developed to interface with the LRUs. Pinaka has developed the DR118 Test Rig and software is used for testing the LRU. The scope of the control software is to define different tests for validating the System. Each test consists of defined set of parameters which are sent to the System. The System processes them, and output is displayed. The output is tapped and compared with the input to find the status which is logged.
Calibration Systems
The Automated Calibration Management System (ACMS) is a requirement projected by 5 BRD, IAF to replace manual methods are laborious, time consuming and error prone. Another reason for automation is to handle Obsolescence. Hybrid architecture was evolved to avail higher frequency range and band width available with box type instruments and retain look and feel of box type instruments with compact PXI modules and User-Friendly GUI. The system carries out complete automation of calibration procedures with option run selected calibration tests manually and execute them.
Pinaka is also the provider of end-to-end solutions encompassing multiple technologies and products. These solutions tap on one or more of Pinaka’s core competencies, viz., Electronics, Electrical Systems, RF technologies, Mechanical Systems and Software. Pinaka prides itself in its ability to produce sophisticated solution architectures to meet complex application requirements, but provide ready-to-use, easy-to-deploy, low-maintenance solutions.
Pinaka’s solutions have been deployed in scenarios which demand high tolerance to environmental standards conformance, require leading-edge technologies and are extremely user-friendly.
